 Committee Descriptions/ Meetings 

Steering meets every other month (even months) on the 3rd Thursday at 9:00am at Omni

Wrap Committee meets every month on the 3rd Thursday at Omni. Time is after the steering committee on even months and 10:00am on odd months.

FCS committee meets on an as needed basis.

 

LAN 38A offers an adoption support program and Healthy Families Program through Shelter, Inc. at 847-255-8060 and a parent mentoring program through Omni House 847-353-1550.

The Kenneth Young Centers $21,600.00 $21,600.00 38A - Wheeling Township OMNI YOUTH SERVICES Movimiento, After School, and Project Reclaim Programs Three separate programs wil be offered to support sutdents in this LAN. Movimiento (Movement in Spanish) focuses on older Latino youth, age 14-18 exhibiting truancy and behaviors that result in suspensions/expulsions. Services are individualized and include mentoring, ESL classes, tutoring, parent support groups, and computer training. After school program targets younger Latino youth in elementary and middle/Jr. High who exhibit behaviors that put them at risk of academic failure, truancy and/or suspension. Students meet 4 days a week in small groups that foucses on changing school behavior. Parental involvement in these groups is also encouraged. Project Reclaim is a collaboration of 8 area high schools and Omni. Students served are truant, or have been suspended or expelled. Omni provides on site group counseling to these students at an area Alternative school.
