LAN 85 Family Centered Services Program

YMCA Network

Mentor Southwest

Mentor Southwest provides youth ages 6-16 with adult volunteer mentors.  The volunteer mentors are asked to donate 1-2 hours a week for one year helping to positively influence the life of a young person.  The YMCA sponsors group trips and activities for the mentors and Y-Pals.  The activities include field trips, mentor/parent support groups, tutor sessions, and Family Nights that provide an opportunity for mentors to interact with Y-Pals and their families.

Mentor Southwest maintains the belief that every child deserves to have someone who will take the time to listen, help him or her develop a positive self image, self-esteem, provide unconditional hope, support and encouragement.
