LAN 82 - Family Centered Services
About LAN 82: LAN or Local Area Network 82 is one of 62 LAN's in Illinois. LAN 82 is a geographically defined area which provides a platform for collaborative planning. LAN 82 has a voluntary, inclusive membership of child welfare and community stakeholders residing within the LAN. LAN 82 works with the Department of Children and Family Services to plan, develop, and deliver a contractually linked array of services to meet the safety and protection needs of children and families.
Family Centered Services: The LAN 82 Family Centered Services Initiative is a compilation of three (3) separate programs whose primary focus has been to assist families in an effort to reduce stressors and negative situations in their lives that have in the past lead to child abuse and/or neglect. The programs are: Family Advocacy, After School Program and Job Training/Business Mentoring Program.
Can My Family Work With FCS? Families living within the boundaries of LAN 82 are eligible to receive services from FCS programs. LAN 82 includes the following communities: South Shore, Avalon, Chatham, Greater Grand Crossing and Burnside.
