LAN 75 Steering Committee - Minutes of April 10, 2002

Introductions/Approval of Minutes

Wraparound Services Committee:  We have quite a bit of money in flex funds to be disbursed for services.  We need to work on referrals in order to expend.  Frank added that DCFS needs to develop a more concrete system in referring families to community agencies.

FCS/ASFA Planning Committee:  The evaluation budgets are needed to be in a.s.a.p.  The new budgets reflecting additional dollars are also needed to be submitted to Ulhich Children's.

Community Service Fair:  We had parents Donna from IFF and Mary Sierra from the Pilsen YMCA representing the LAN at the resource fair held at West Side Tech on April 24th.  It was a good turn out.  Rose and Mary went in to set up, there was a huge array of services represented.  Donna and Mary disseminated much information regarding the LAN with the Wraparound video, health information and service information.  Great job!!!

Executive Committee:  The By-laws committee (Ana Baro, Rose Dominguez and Nancy Maksomowicz) on April 30.  Process is good and progressing.  It has been an interesting experience for us in working on this mission.  Much thought and work is being invested and should have something to present in the near future.

Flex Funds:  Referrals are needed to meet our expenditures.

Other:  Special Events/Training Committee continues to be on the table and open for any volunteers to spearhead these tasks.  The benefits in working in this committee will result in working and voicing suggestions to and with DCFS. Example:  planning events, trainings and recommending with input.  Persons stepping up will not be working alone.

DCFS Liaison Report:

Community Presentations:  None at this time.

Our next meetings will be May 8th and June 12th, at 11:00am at Alivio Medical Center, 2355, S. Western Ave. Chicago.

See you there!
