Meeting Minutes


 

February 13, 2001

Chicago Children’s Advocacy presented material regarding their services.  Ruth Southall is the contact person at 312-492-3700.  CCAC investigates child sexual abuse, completing all aspects of the investigation plus follow up.  The center will open in April of 2001.

 

Community and Residential Services Authority presented information on their services.  This is a state of Illinois agency that is responsible for accessing services for children who are emotionally and behaviorally disordered.  Services are available to parents, agencies, hospitals etc. to help provide information, linkage, advocacy and resolution for disputes.  The toll free number is 877-541-2772 for central intake.  Paul Deutch serves the cook north area and Robert Watts serves the cook south area.

 

Native American Foster Parent Association presented on their services.  This agency was founded four years ago to monitor the placement of Native children and services they receive.  Contact the agency at 773-784-9305 for questions or more information.

 

The committee reviewed the satisfaction surveys discussed at the last meeting.  On March 13 at 1:00pm the gatekeeping committee will meet to discuss modifications to the tool used to review the wraparound plans.

 

The Resource Fair committee reported progress.  Letters went out for intent to be at the fair and four responses came back.  A location is to be determined within the next few weeks.  The date is confirmed as April 14th.

 

CEUs will be offered for the cycle trainings.  Contact Jill Vaughn for more information as to when the trainings are. 

 

Parents Plus group is growing.  The English/Spanish group is held every Wednesday from 10:00am-12:00pm.  The polish-speaking group is Tuesdays and Thursdays.  For more information call 773-282-9535.

 

Lydia Home discussed programs funded through the LAN.  For more information on the parent/child interaction therapy and respite program call 773-736-1447.

 

Right now the gatekeeping committee has funded approximately $12,000 in flex fund cases.  If you have any families that are at risk of the child being removed from the home due to behavior or other reasons please call Debbie for an application 773-777-7112.
