What
Is the LAN?
The
Local Area Network is one of 62 networks of care and support in
Illinois that serve families of youth at risk. LAN 47 covers Kane
and Kendall counties.
Who
Belongs to the LAN?
The
LAN is comprised of parents, family and youth serving agencies,
school districts, and state agencies.
Why
Do We Need a LAN?
Despite
the efforts of talented and caring human service providers, many
youth today often present problems that are beyond the scope of
any single agency or program.
Through
the LAN, people of the community work together in a cooperative
effort to adequately meet the needs of these youth.
What
Is the Mission of LAN?
LAN
47 is committed to creating family centered, community based
services for children and adolescents who appear at risk of being
placed in a more restrictive school setting and /or placed
outside of their home, school or community, due to an emotional
mental or behavior disorder.
What
Does LAN 47 Do?
LAN
47:
-
Plans
for local systems of care for children and youth in our area.
-
Manages
a pool of "Flexible Funding: designed to maintain
children in their home communities and support those children
returning from residential placement through wraparound
planning and Family Center Services.
